On Tuesday afternoon, eight lucky Callerton Academy students were given the opportunity to join the Newcastle United Foundation to help launch the NU Futures outreach programme for children across the North East. At an exclusive launch event at NUCASTLE, the enthusiastic Callerton pupils met legendary Newcastle United striker, Shola Ameobi and enjoyed spectacular rooftop views from the 4G football pitch. Here they participated in a few games and STEM activities. To top things off, the students were given a private tour of St. James’ Park! The children were taken into the stadium and sat in the VIP seats while learning cool facts about the stadium. Did you know that the pitch slopes from North to South?
All in all, it was a fantastic day. We can’t wait to work with NUFC in the future!
