View PostScience at Callerton Academy: Last week, our Year 7 students had an amazing time in a robotics workshop, putting their coding skills to the test as they programmed robots to navigate a series of challenges and tracks! Hosted by Kielder Observatory, the workshop gave students the chance to develop their teamwork, resilience and problem-solving skills whilst exploring technology in a fun and hands-on way. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, creativity and collaboration on display throughout the session and students represented Callerton Academy impeccably. View PostWe couldn't be prouder of our students. Your GCSE exams are well underway, and we are truly inspired by the positivity, determination and commitment you are showing every day. Your resilience reflects exactly what it means to be part of our Trust – a community that supports one another and strives to achieve their very best. Remember, all the hard work you've put in and continue to put in will pay off. But exams are not just about results. Your mental health and wellbeing matter just as much. Taking time to rest, staying balanced, and reaching out for support when you need it are all part of success too. We are proud of you, we are behind you, and we believe in you every step of the way. Keep going – you've got this. #CreatingFutures #GosforthGroup #GCSEs #ProudSchoolMoment #wellbeingmatters #CallertonAcademy
View PostArt at Callerton Academy: Yesterday, Year 7 welcomed Graeme Turnbull from Northumbria University into the Art department for a fantastic workshop supporting their Still Life project. Students had the opportunity to observe and draw from real insect specimens, developing their observational drawing skills whilst exploring shape, texture and detail. Graeme also demonstrated the fluorescent properties of certain insects and how they react under different lighting, helping students explore colour theory and iridescence within their artwork. A brilliant hands-on experience for our young artists! #CallertonAcademy #GosforthGroup #CreatingFutures #Art #Year7 #StillLife
