Year 7 at Callerton Academy: As part of Yellow Week, our Year 7 students enjoyed a fantastic day at the beach! The day was packed with fun, teamwork and plenty of smiles as students took part in a range of beach challenges, from sandcastle building and burying teammates in the sand to relay races, games and creative team activities. It was wonderful to see students working together, encouraging one another and making the most of the opportunity to spend time outdoors in such a fantastic setting. Experiences like these help build confidence, friendships and memories that will last long after Year 7. Reading at Callerton Academy: To celebrate the end of another fantastic year, we invited our wonderful Library Helpers to a special end-of-year party to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication. Throughout the year, our Library Helpers have played an important role in keeping the library running smoothly , supporting other students , organising books and helping to create a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy reading. The celebration was a small way of recognising their commitment, with plenty of treats , refreshments and a few well-deserved thank you gifts ! Year 7 at Callerton Academy: As part of Yellow Week, our Year 7 students took part in an exciting School of Improv workshop delivered by the fantastic team from Boho Arts. Over the coming week, we'll be catching up on sharing all of the fantastic activities our students enjoyed during Yellow Week, so keep an eye on our page for more highlights! Through a range of creative games, improvisation challenges and performance activities, students developed their confidence, communication and teamwork skills while having plenty of fun along the way. It was wonderful to see everyone stepping outside their comfort zones, supporting one another and embracing every challenge with enthusiasm and creativity. Transition at Callerton Academy: As we prepare for the new academic year, we're asking for your support with our pre-loved uniform collection. If your child has any Callerton Academy uniform they no longer need, we would be incredibly grateful if you could donate it to the school when we return in September. Donations of all sizes are welcome and will help support other families in our community. If your child will be attending Callerton Academy in September, regardless of their year group, and you require school uniform, we'd love to help. We already have a wide range of pre-loved uniform available in many sizes. Once Callerton, Always Callerton As the academic year comes to a close, we say farewell to a number of valued colleagues. Each has played an important role in shaping Callerton Academy, and we thank them for everything they have contributed to our school community. Miss Allen – Thank you for three years in the Maths department, supporting our SEND students and serving as a dedicated form tutor. Miss Donnelly – Thank you for the care, guidance and opportunities you've provided as MCR Pathways Coordinator. Mrs Fowler – Thank you for four years of outstanding support as Attendance & Welfare Officer, building strong relationships with students and families. Miss Howells – Thank you for your leadership of Modern Foreign Languages and for inspiring students to embrace new languages and cultures. Mrs Innes – Thank you for your vision and leadership as Callerton Academy's founding Principal, helping to build our school from day one. Mr McEvoy – Thank you for your dedication to the Maths department and for the care and encouragement you've given as a form tutor. Mr Moore – Thank you for the invaluable support you've provided as a Learning Support Assistant, helping students succeed every day. Miss Potter – Thank you for four years in the English department and for the positive impact you've made as a form tutor. Mrs Powney – Thank you for your dedication to the Maths department and the positive difference you've made to our students. Whether you're reading at the beach, in the garden, upside down on a trampoline, on holiday, or somewhere completely unexpected, we want to see where your book takes you! Year 8 at Callerton Academy: Our Year 8 students made the most of the glorious sunshine during Yellow Week with a fantastic day of PE activities on Monday! Students enjoyed a variety of team games and challenges, including Ultimate Frisbee and football, putting their communication, teamwork and sportsmanship into practice throughout the day. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved, encouraging one another and embracing the opportunity to be active outdoors. Year 9 at Callerton Academy: Our Year 9 students have had a fantastic few days exploring the capital on this year's London Residential! Over the course of the trip, students enjoyed a packed itinerary, including visits to the London Dungeon, a Thames River boat tour, Leicester Square, Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, Covent Garden, and the Imperial War Museum. They experienced history brought to life through the immersive storytelling and performances of the London Dungeon, reflected on powerful and harrowing accounts of the Holocaust at the Imperial War Museum, and rounded off the trip with a spectacular performance of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, celebrating the very best of live performing arts. The group is now making their way home and is expected to arrive approximately one hour earlier than originally scheduled.
