PSHE at Callerton Academy: Yesterday, we welcomed Paul Hannaford into school to deliver a powerful assembly to students in Years 7–10 . Paul shared his personal experiences of involvement in drugs and gangs, speaking honestly about the long-term impact this has had on his life including time in prison and ongoing physical consequences. His message was both thought-provoking and impactful, helping students to better understand the real-life risks and consequences of these choices, as well as the importance of making positive decisions for their future. Computer Science at Callerton Academy: As we head into the Easter break, we're celebrating a fantastic achievement from our KS3 and GCSE Computer Science students, who have just completed a Cyber Security Workshop delivered by Northumbria University. Drama at Callerton Academy: Our GCSE Drama students have had an incredible experience this half term! Not only did they watch a stunning performance of Noughts & Crosses at Northern Stage, but they also took part in an inspiring workshop led by one of the show's directors from Pilot Theatre. Music at Callerton Academy: Members of our school orchestra had a fantastic time at an Orchestras For All workshop on Wednesday, as they continue preparing for their upcoming performance at The Glasshouse this June. Students worked closely with professional musicians, developing their ensemble skills, building confidence, and refining their performance pieces it was brilliant to see their progress and enthusiasm throughout the session.
