Welcome to Callerton Academy, an exciting and inspiring place to learn and grow, where we are passionate about creating inspired futures. Our academy is built on a commitment to nurturing every student’s potential, empowering them to thrive academically, socially, and personally. We set high expectations for ourselves and our students, fostering a culture of ambition, respect, and kindness.
Opened in September 2021, we began our journey with our first Year 7 cohort and continue to grow year by year through new intakes.
Food Preparation & Nutrition at Callerton Academy: Our Year 10 GCSE students have been experimenting with raising agents this term, using steam to create beautifully light and airy profiteroles Through careful technique and precision, students explored how steam expands during baking to puff up choux pastry a brilliant example of food science in action. They then demonstrated fantastic presentation skills, finishing their creations with chocolate sauce and fresh fruit to plate up like true professionals A delicious blend of science, skill and creativity. Well done, Year 10! #CallertonAcademy #CreatingFutures #GosforthGroup #FoodPreparationAndNutrition #GCSEFood #PracticalSkills #FoodScience #Year10

View PostComputer Science at Callerton Academy: Over the last two Saturdays, a group of our Year 10 students studying GCSE Computer Science and OCR Nationals IT have been attending an Ethical Hacking course at Northumbria University They explored key aspects of cyber security and developed practical skills in accessing computer networks all within a safe, controlled environment. Alongside this, students examined the very real legal implications of unauthorised access and why understanding the law is just as important as understanding the code. By learning how ethical hackers test systems, students saw first-hand how organisations strengthen their defences against cyber attacks. It was fantastic to see them engaging so thoughtfully with such a fast-moving and important field of technology. They also had the opportunity to explore the university facilities and who knows... we may well see some of them back there in the future, helping to protect us from tomorrow's cyber threats. #CallertonAcademy #CreatingFutures #GosforthGroup #ComputerScience #CyberSecurity #EthicalHacking #STEM #FutureReady

View PostScience at Callerton Academy: A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Stellar Futures, our family stargazing evening hosted by the Science Department in partnership with Kielder Observatory. Although cloudy skies meant outdoor observations weren't possible, the evening was still full of curiosity and discovery. Students and families explored the universe inside the inflatable planetarium, used a virtual telescope to travel through space, and got hands-on with UV bracelet making. It was brilliant to see such enthusiasm for science beyond the classroom, shared together with families, and made possible through this fantastic collaboration. A truly inspiring evening of learning and wonder #CallertonAcademy #GosforthGroup #ScienceAtCA #StellarFutures #KielderObservatory #STEM #FamilyLearning #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #CuriosityInAction
