It has been an absolutely brilliant week for reading with lots of star achievements celebrated and we’ve had a visit from a famous published author too!

On Thursday we were treated to a visit from best-selling local author Malcolm Duffy. Our Year 8 group reading this term has been his superb book ‘Me Mam, Me Dad, Me’. Malcolm delivered a workshop to every class and gave our students the opportunity to ask him about his career and where he gets his story inspiration from.

Huge congratulations to this half terms Star Readers in Year 8. They have made exceptional progress in their reading, and we are so proud of them. Well done!

Our reading reward trip for Year 8 took place last week. We got to walk to Waterstone's Bookshop to select a book for ourselves. We also had hot chocolate and cream with marshmallows. What a brilliant reward for our brilliant readers!

Well done to 7D and 8D for winning the reading totals this week! Great numbers and progressed has been achieved. Congratulations to all of you!

Form class 8B won the most improved attendance for this half term and as a reward they have been making their own Easter eggs. We bet they taste amazing, although we doubt many of them will actually make it home without being eaten!

Kaydee has been selected as our inaugural winner of Year 8 PE Sports Performer of the Term. Her work ethic in lessons has been exemplary as she pushes herself to achieve the best that she possibly can. Kaydee is very much a team player and is willing to work with and support others in PE lessons. On our recent trip to Dance City Kaydee showcased her talents, producing an exceptional piece of choreography with her group. Well done for all your hard work Kaydee!
