The North East Festival of Languages was celebrated at Callerton Academy in March. Students had the opportunity to practice their Mandarin by participating in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators through their translation work of the Chinese children's book "Little Snail Looks for Something Tasty". On March 24th our students had language taster sessions offered by Newcastle University students. They had their virtual tour to German speaking countries and Japan and learned the culture, customs and basic phrases in these two languages. Vielen Dank, Arigado and Xiexie.
