Callerton Academy–December update

Principal Designate

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Katie Innes as Principal Designate of Callerton Academy.

Mrs Innes started her teaching career teaching maths at Gosforth Academy. During her six years at the school she took on a number of areas of responsibility and joined the Academy’s Associate Leader Programme. Mrs Innes moved to Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham as Curriculum Leader for Maths and was quickly promoted to Assistant Head. She is currently working as Deputy Head at Queen Elizabeth High School and will take up her post with us at Easter.

She is very excited about her new role as Principal Designate for Callerton Academy and we are very much looking forward to working with her again in a Gosforth Group School.

Admissions

We are delighted with all the interest in our new school and with the number of applications we have received.

You can still apply until 31 December.

After the closing date Newcastle City Council will contact all the applicants to ask where Callerton Academy fits with the preferences they expressed through the secondary school transfer process.

Places for Callerton Academy will then be offered on 1^st March 2021, National Offer Day

Section 10 Consultation

The Section 10 Consultation has now closed. We’re pleased to announce that the responses we received were overwhelmingly positive and the Trust will now begin the process of agreeing a Funding Agreement for Callerton Academy with the Secretary of State.
