I am writing to introduce myself and to inform you of some upcoming changes to the leadership structure at Callerton Academy.

My name is Mr Pete Fox, and I am an Executive Headteacher within the Gosforth Group. I have been working closely with Callerton Academy since February, supporting the school’s leadership team and contributing to its ongoing development. I am pleased to share that I have now formally taken on the role of Executive Headteacher of Callerton Academy, and I look forward to continuing to work in partnership with staff, students, parents, and carers as the school continues to grow and strengthen its provision.

I would also like to inform you of a staffing change. Mrs Katie Innes, the founding Principal of Callerton Academy, will be leaving the Gosforth Group at the end of this academic year to take up a headship at another school within the region. Between now and the end of the summer term, Mrs Innes will move into a project-based role within the Gosforth Group, allowing her to support wider school improvement work while ensuring a smooth transition for Callerton Academy.

As a result, Mrs Susanna Cooke has joined Callerton Academy with immediate effect as Acting Head of School. Mrs Cooke is a highly experienced school leader with a strong background in supporting school improvement, maintaining high standards, and building positive relationships within school communities. She is very much looking forward to getting to know our students, staff, parents, and carers, and to leading the school through the next stage of its development.

Mrs Cooke will be supported by the current leadership team of Mrs Swain, Miss Davidson and Mr McCloskey.

We are confident that these changes will provide stability and continuity for the school, and we appreciate your continued support as we move forward together.
